Grommeted Panel

The edges of these panels are sewn with heavy-duty reinforcing tape. Brass grommets are installed on approximately two-foot centers around the perimeter. They often include a seam where two pieces of shade have been sewn together. The panels are durable and easy to install with ropes, bungees or wire. It's the most durable solution for smaller areas where the shade cloth will be suspended between four points. Grommeted panels are sold in pre-cut sizes or can be ordered in any custom size.

Precut Panel

A raw piece of shade fabric where the edges of the panel are not reinforced with any tape or grommets. Would not typically have a seam but may have a raw (cut) edge. They can be installed with wiggle wire, shade cloth clips or wooden lath. Precut panels are sold in precut sizes or can be ordered in any custom size.

Bulk (currently viewing)

Sold in factory widths by the linear foot. It would only rarely have a seam and the sides typically include a factory-finished (uncut) edge. The most cost-effective solution for large quantities of shade fabric.

When you're growing greenhouse plants that like a little shade or need to compensate for unseasonably high sun levels, our 30% shade cloth will offer the needed respite. It allows 70% sunlight through, which is excellent for certain vegetables as well as low-shade plants like geraniums and asters. A 30% shade cloth for plants is also good for growing spring or fall flowers in the summer. The high-density polypropylene knitting resists UV fading and can be cut without fraying or tearing.

Greenhouse Megastore shade cloth can be draped over building side panels and roofing or set up like shade sails over outdoor gardens. Note the black color may slightly increase heat levels for indoor shaded areas. Bulk 30% garden shade cloth is sold by the linear foot in widths from six to 32 feet to accommodate DIY or commercial structures. Take advantage of multilevel volume discount pricing and free shipping on qualifying orders to save big for your plant shading needs.

Black Shade Cloth 30% Features:

  • Bulk shade cloth has an unfinished edge that does not include reinforcing tape or grommets
  • Unlike woven shade cloth, the tough lockstitch construction of our knitted material will prevent unfinished edges from unraveling
  • Bulk shade cloth can be easily cut with a sharp pair of scissors to any desired size
  • Bulk pieces can be attached using snap grommets, zip ties or other fastening methods

Hanging Instructions

When hanging shade cloth pieces larger than 100 square feet, you may need extra center support to prevent the cloth from sagging in the middle. One easy way to do this is by running lightweight cables from each corner to the opposite corner, forming an X pattern that the cloth can rest on. For pieces larger than 400 square feet, you may need cables running end to end every four feet or so.

Perfect for what we needed

Once we get everything put back together properly and get the shade cloth on the greenhouses. I am sure it will do its job perfectly. We have wanted to cut done the sun on the greenhouses for a while. It is much too hot even outside the greenhouse let alone inside the greenhouse in full sun.

Quick delivery

Product arrived much quicker than it said it would. I sewed it myself and it was easy to work with and seems very durable. Only time will tell. It is going to be a pond cover.

Good product. 30% shade cloth drops the temp in my garden but still lets in plenty of light. Was easier to work with after sewing batten tape and installing grommets around the edges. If you can't do that yourself I would pay extra to have it done for you.

Great quality and value

I've ordered shade cloth of many densities from greenhousemegastore, and it's always of highest quality at an unbeatable price. I particularly like working with the 30% - 60% densities, as they are easy to tie on to frames and water flows through them easily. Customer service is also great - I had to set up a tax-exempt purchase order account, and the representatives were prompt and very courteous in doing the required paperwork.
