Q
Do these planters have handles?
A
The Large Nursery Containers have four width handles evenly spaced on the rim of each container.
Q
Do you have any larger than the #25?
A
The #25 Large Nursery Container is the largest size currently offered by the manufacturer.
Q
Planning to grow roses in containers. Is #25 a good size? Large growing varieties and shrub roses need optimum space to expand over time but I don't want to plant in a container that is too massive.
A
Our master gardener stated that the #25 Large Nursery Container could be considered too large for growing roses, depending on the variety of rose that is being grown. He suggested using either the #10 or #15 container.
Q
What size pot should I use for growing a passion fruit vine?

Best price

These are the best priced 20 gallon pots that I was able to find. The quality is fairly good for the price. Out of the 12 pots that I ordered, only one was defective; it was not cut straight at the top. Not bad enough to be a deal breaker though.

These large plastic pots are awesome well made heavy plastic, the size is a little larger than a 24" tree box, perfect to up-size my 15 gal coffee and mango trees! Wish that they had free shipping but they were on sale and that discount more than covered the shipping!

#5 nursery pots are 2 liters less than advertised
Jun 23, 2017 | By Don McCulley
Received #5 squat nursery pots which are listed as holding 5 gallons, or about 19 liters. The pots I received are 17 liters (size is stamped on bottom of pots). These 2 missing liters negatively impact the work I am doing. Shipment was fast, nursery pot quality is good, but not the nursery pots I received were not as described.

Too thin
May 25, 2017 | By Bobbie Booker

I was hoping the planters were made of a heavier plastic. I have bought the same planters through a different company for the same price so I thought I was getting the same product with the same quality but unfortunately that isn't what happened.

Large #25 nursery pots
May 16, 2017 | By Homas Beaubien
These are of great size of a thin variety injection molded plastic.. Be sure to have in the place you want them as moving them when full is is a difficult task given the thin plastic doesn't offer much in support.. Also the bottom is thin and doesn't offer any support if you want them off the ground for drainage by raising with wood or brick.. These are not bad pots for most but if they develope a crinkle or crumpled you are not moving them at all without collapsing entirely. I trial purchased 5 of the 25 gallon containers and three were crushed in the middle of the stack and doubtful they can be used effectively for my purpose.

This container is excellent for tomatoes. I put about 2" plastic lining in one container with river rock to create a reservoir and then placed a second container inside of it, filled with soil, and then planted my tomato. The size is perfect and they ship these containers at a reasonable price! Awesome! I will buy again!

HUMONGOUS PLANTERS
Oct 5, 2015 | By PETE HUTZEL
Good price and fast delivery. An earlier reviewer noted that they are a bit on the light side, so I ordered twice as many and plan to use them doubled up for extra strength.
With some polyethylene film, I think I can use the lower planter to create a water reservoir for the upper planter.

3rd Purchase!
Sep 29, 2015 | By Jamie
I'm a Master Gardener living in a rented house, and these pots have brought joy back into my growing! I planted figs and tree collards in my first bundle, pole beans, pumpkins and squash in the second order, and now I have a huge fall planting of snow peas and a lemon tree in the third! Super happy with these containers. I use 50 mm copper tape around them to keep the slugs and snails out, and gopher/vole/mole damage is no longer an issue! Will buy more.

Best quality ever, when the temp get colder the pot becomes even sturdier,I am so happy with it and in fact might order large quantities in the future to be sent to the Philippines.I would highly recumbent to anyone ,my usage I am planting fruit trees,a little enlargement of bottom and side holes the buried in the ground halfway, why so? because I have so many gigantic trees nearby and the tendency of their roots was to encroach and choked the young fruit trees.

Bigger Than 1/2 Barrels
May 30, 2015 | By Jamie Levitan
These are a great alternative to buying $40 1/2 barrels. I live in a rental, so I don't want to put anything in the ground. My fig trees are super happy since being transplanted into these, and they've put on fruit after just a month. I was impressed, so I bought another bundle to start a veggie garden in. Only negative is that my last order arrived horribly crushed (the pots, not the box).

26 GALLON PLANTING POTS
Feb 4, 2015 | By SALVADOR
THESE POTS ARE VERY GOOD AND AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE. I WENT TO A NURSERY AND THEY WANTED TO CHARGE $30 DOLLARS .THEY ARE BIG AND HAVE ENOUGH ROOM TO LET THE ROOTS GROW FOR SOME PLANTS WHICH OUTGREW THE 15 GALLON POTS. SOME PEOPLE MIGHT CONSIDER THE PLASTIC SOMEWHAT THIN, BUT FOR ME THEY ARE FINE. I HAVE ALREADY BOUGHT TWO BUNDLES OF 5 POTS BECAUSE I AM SATISFIED WITH THE POTS AND THE PRICE.

Best Large Containers for the Price
Dec 9, 2014 | By Richard Dean
I have purchased every size except #10 because by the case they are the best priced pots available that I have found anywhere. I love these pots. They are lightweight enough to keep them manageable but strong and sturdy enough that I never worry about them cracking or splitting. Every single large container I have purchased in still in use and going strong. And I always get excellent customer service and fast shipping.

The containers appear to be of good quality. The original order was never shipped. The person I talked to about the order was polite and helpful. She checked on the order and made sure the containers did eventually get shipped. The five containers arrived without damage but the box was pretty much shredded and the containers were tied together with a few pieces of cardboard taped partially around them. I plan to use the containers to grow vegetables and strawberries.

I have planted a dozen or more tomato plants in these pots to have a container garden. They are working great. The tomatoes are thriving in a mix of potting mix a loamy soil. These are handy enough to move around and yet sturdy too. I am totally pleased with the performance of these pots.

#7 Black Pot for shield

We planted on a 45 degree slope using vinyl coated mesh cages and heavy weed block stapled around the cage and are using rock to create a natural rock planter look. We cut the #7 pots into (2) 4-1/2" to 5" bands to wrap around the fabric and mesh and tuck down into the slope at the back of the cages to offer stability and reduce evaporation at the front exposed area. These work perfectly and are economical.

I purchased these large pots to use as a base for a vertical garden and so far these pots are working out great for this purchase. Can not comment on durability since this is the first time I have used these pots, but I think I will be able to utilize for several growing seasons. Very happy with my purchase

We bought these containers to use around outdoor plants. We cut off the top 8 inches and used them as rings to hold in the mulch and hold out the rocks. While not real substantial, they did the job. The cost was much less anything else we had looked at.

Great for the price!
Mar 23, 2014 | By Harold Hein

I would have preferred a heavier gauge plastic, but this vendor apparently doesn't carry this type. To be fair the heavier gauge containers I've priced elsewhere seem way overpriced for what one would get. If the container holds up to the sun and doesn't get brittle it will work just fine. The rim is too thin to grab & lift effectively so I will just make a rope sling / carry-all to slip under the pot and lift with that.

What I needed

After digging out plants the 7 gallon pots were used to hold them over during patio deck reconstruction. They performed exactly as I expected and were the size expected. They are not for permanent use, just for growing and/or transporting. Even at that they are not flimsy

20 gal nursery containers
Oct 29, 2013 | By tom manok

Very expensive relative to quality. I was disappointed in the thickness of the material. It was paper thin. Other pots I have are 3 times thicker and last forever. The ones I bought from greenhouse will deteriorate over time and once filled cannot be moved without damage.

Very Resonable Containers

The 7gal large Nursery Container serves a need when having to use a cheaper container up to 18 months before stepping up or selling the plant material, yes the containers are slightly flimsy but do have 2 handles molded in the pot and are good enough for our use.

Flimsy
Jul 5, 2013 | By Robert
Bought the #7 and #10, 6 and 9.6 gallon pots, respectively.
These are the thin, flimsy, throw-away pots that trees come in at the big box stores. They cannot be moved easily when full as there is no lip to put your fingers under. The "handles" are useless. I bought these for trees, but I'll have to find another use for them.

Large Nursery Container #15 Black
Jun 20, 2013 | By Edward Beary
I am using them for a container garden. The plastic is a bit thin for this size container resulting compression of the sides if you lift them with heavy soil in them. The molded handle bulges are not strong enough to be used when the pots have soil. They tend to collapse or bend, making them difficult to maintain a hold with soil in the pots. I was using garden soil which is a bit heavy due to clay content in my area. A lighter, artificial mix might not be as bad in these pots.
Once they are in place, they seem to hold up ok. I will need to evaluate them further when the plants are mature.
Next time, I will probably look for a thicker walled pot in this size range.

I ordered #25 pots at website. I should have called and talked to salesperson. I thought that I was getting heavy, thick black plastic pots. What I got was thin plastic. They do hold dirt, but you can almost forget moving them when filled, which was the reason I got them so I could move the m without damage. So I gave a three instead of four or five.

Good service, container just OK
Mar 4, 2013 | By Paul
Like others, I'm happy with the company's shipping and service. The pots are functional, but the rim and handles are really too flimsy for such large pots. I would rather pay a little more for a sturdier design. I couldn't tell how thin they were from the product picture. I'll make it work, but probably look for another design next time. This review is for the 7 gallon pot. Very hard to pick up when full.

15 Gal container rim and bottom are too soft
Mar 3, 2013 | By T Day
I have very limited space in my backyard to grow vegitables and flowers. During the summer some place could get a lot of shade due to sun's movement. I bought the big container to grow sun loving plants such that I can move the plants around to get the best sun exposure possible. The 15 Gal containers I bought are very good quality, however, the bottom and rim are soft and thin. When pot is fill-up with potting soil it can easily exceed 70 lbs. It will not be a easy task to move the pot around. For service and price I'd give them a 5. For my special application I can only rate this product a 2. Therefore, a 3 is my vote. I do hope they can improve the product by re-enforce the handle and bottom. I will order more from them without any hesitation.

I should have believe what Vince Amato had said and not to buy the 15 Gal pot from them. The pot rim is so thin my heart sank after I opened the shipping box and touched them. I know I will have trouble to move the pot around after filled with the soil. Price is good and shipping rate is very reasonable.

This 15 gal pot is very thin and flimsy. Hard to move when its potted. We potted small trees and had to use 2 pots inside each other. The handle is very hard to grasp. If you are looking for a sturdy sided pot, this is not it with good handles, this is not it.

I was skeptical of these pots. I thought they are thin and weak like the pots I get from the nursery with purchased plants.
I ordered 6 10 G pots to test the quality. I am so surprised and pleased for the quality compared to the price. I will order more and more sizes. I just bought one pot 10G pot from Lowes at X5 times more price. It did not have drainage holes which I drilled myself. But Lowes pot is made in China LOL. Now Greenhouse Megastore is my # 1 store.

Large Nursery Container - 7 Gallon Black, 10 each
Sep 13, 2012 | By Cathy Seither
These are outstanding for growing water plants because of their size. I use white trash bags as container inserts, fill the container (interior bag) with water, and added the water plants. The containers are sturdy and strong and can be carried around with the full contents of water plus the plants.
A second container is housing greenhouse bench parts until they are needed.
The remainder of the 20 containers that I purchased will be utilized for stock plants (and winter vegetables) within and outside the greenhouses.
The containers are well worth the cost.

The se are plain, simple and durable nursery pots, not pretty to look at, but large enough for almost any of your gardening needs. I am using several of mine for giant elephant ears and plumeria. They can be used for years to come and for the size of the container, are relatively easy to move around.

Great Black Nursery Containers

Bought the 7gal. nursery containers to repot my peppers (different varieties). Their growth was stunted in smaller pots I got from Target. These were the perfect size with great drainage. Sturdy, too, and arrived in 4-5 days. Will definitely purchase more of these for the next growing season vs. buying smaller, high priced pots locally.

7 gallon nursery pots
May 29, 2011 | By Sue Beckham

Not being sure of the size I chose the 7 gallon pots. They were taller than I expected but the right diameter. I needed pots to hold 3 plants to make a nice table arrangement for a luncheon. Because the pots had a scallop design I was able to cut the pots down, giving them a scalloped top. Then they were the right size and the plants have a beautiful container to sit out without needing to transplant. The pots are durable but easy enough to cut with a scissor.

I purchased three sizes of these pots to plant perennials IN the ground on my wooded property. The idea is to not only enable me to adequately water and feed the plants without the surrounding tree roots competing, but also to keep the zillions of voles in our area from eating the roots. The only drawback to this purchase was the extremely high shipping cost of $93!!
