Stands the test of time

I wrote my original review in Jan 2015 so this is my two year update -- can't believe it's been that long. I'm prompted to write a followup because I just found my Wilcox after it disappeared a good year ago. It's been buried in shrubs and, shockingly, looks brand new. Unlike all my pruners and most of my other tools, the two Wilcox tools I have (hand hoe as well) are basically weather proof and don't turn into a slab of rust or crumbling plastic. Even the rubber handle and cord are fine. It looks truly brand new. Can't believe it. Anyway, Wilcox, you have my business for life. I wish you made a really large scoop as well as pruners with the same quality. For everyone else, buy these things, they're pass-down-to-the-kids quality.

Go to war with your garden

The Wilcox trowel is made for the most brutal garden conflicts. The 12 trowel isn't really a garden trowel so much as it's a knife for digging and cutting roots, plants and whatnot. When I'm moving soil or doing delicate work, I reach for a traditional trowel, but for the serious jobs, this thing is a monster. I used mine first day out to tackle huge agave pups buried in gravel. I jammed the Wilcox into the base of the pup and proceeded to kick the end of the handle. The pups popped right out and the Wilcox didn't flinch. Lesser tools would have bent or snapped completely. Absolutely the strongest garden tools out there. Not the biggest fan of the leather strap, but that's a tiny quibble in an otherwise flawless design.
