Does not seal ends well

I used this as specified to seal the open flutes of Solexx sheeting. Over several years I noticed water condensation inside the flutes. This did not appear to result from the screws used to attach the panels as the condensation did not line up with the location of screw holes. That is, flutes free from any screw penetrations had condensation, indicating water was entering from the open ends. Further research revealed that silicone sealants like this one do not stick well to polyethylene. Butyl rubber sealants do apparently stick and I will try that on some new Solexx sheeting.
