Chalk pen
Chalk pens work great, especially for outdoor usage. Only knock is slightly higher price than they should be.

Better than plastic tags
I like that I can write on the pot and not have to make a million labels. It makes re-potting faster. The con is that the pen dries up after a few minutes and you need to shake and push the tip.

Bright Colors, Multi Colors
I like how these pens look on the black t-signs. You do have to plan how you are going to write the lettering and how much you are going to put on the sign because they are not small tip. When you first push on the tip, you will get a pool of liquid chalk then it will flow normally. So press it on a paper towel or napkin, then you sign.

lov colors
love these pens allows me to personalize my herb garden. Very easy to use.

Pen Tip large
This works as described, doesn't wash off when watering, but wipes off with a cloth. The tip is pretty big though, which makes it really hard to write with on the small T-signs. I ended up buying a smaller fine point tip (3mm) off amazon.

Marker
The only complaint I have on this marker is that it is wider than I thought it would be. On the plus side it is not fading in the sun and it is not washing away.
