Finally, a wall or ceiling mounted fan that's UL507 listed for indoor or outdoor applications. An Extreme Air Wall Fan from J&D Manufacturing is the perfect circulation fan for high-humidity applications such as greenhouses or animal holding facilities. Each fan features a durable white powder coating to resist rust and corrosion plus white aluminum blades, a three-speed pull chain and an OSHA-approved guard. They also have a totally enclosed direct-drive high efficiency motor that's UL-listed with completely sealed ball bearings and built-in thermal overload protection.

HAF fans produce a more stable temperature, supply carbon dioxide to plants and help condensation evaporate for a better growing space. This interior/exterior wall mount fan comes in 14-inch, 18-inch, 24-inch or 30-inch diameters. The 14-inch and 18-inch sizes include a tiltable wall/ceiling fan bracket while the 24-inch and 30-inch sizes include a wall bracket only. The two larger fans can move back and forth covering a 93-degree spread so more space can get much-needed airflow.

18 inch 3spd fan

Had it for a month now, i use it in a 15X30 ft greenhouse (5200cft).
Thus far its been able to handle the NW Alabama heat, i use it in conjunction with 20" exhaust fan an temps stay in upper 80s to low 90s.
It appears to be weatherproof, the motor is entirely sealed , so time will tell. Like the 3spd option, saves power on cooler days being able to use lower speeds.

Right Fan for the Job

We bought this fan for two reasons... to keep us cool during the warm summer months and to reduce the number of biting insects that used to harass us while we used our deck. It's doing a fantastic job! My wife traditionally used sprays, fogs, and candles to control the insects, but the fan works much better and provides a nice breeze when it's warm. We mounted it just off our 20' deck and it stirs the air across the length even on it's lowest setting. Highly recommended. I'm seriously considering another fan for the garage. Greenhouse Megastore had the best shipping on the internet!

good for the greenhouse

I used the first fan like this one for 4years in a small greenhouse. It is only partially protected from the weather, and I run it continuously. Good value for the price.

Much heavier than expected

This fan is much heavier than I expected. I guess I should have known a 1/3 hp motor would be heavy. I haven't installed it yet because of the weight. This is probably a bit much for a hobby greenhouse. I don't want to send it back because it will cost me too much to do that.

Work great - but rusting

The fans work great but we have only had them a few months and they are already rusting in certain areas. They are outside fans so this should not happen. Do you sell any type of cover for when not in use?

fair bang for the buck

A good fan for the purpose i purchased, to dry out firewood in an enclosed area.

OK

Somewhat difficult to put together and it takes two people to hang it. After that it works great.

Satisfied!

Purchased this for residential use, about 2008. We have a dog door, three dogs, and a yard landscaped with many trees and shrubs; hence, MOSQUITOVILLE. I installed this fan on the house, angled downwards toward the dog door, to create an air current on the dogs as they enter the house through their door. I have it connected to an outdoor timer, (Christmas lights timer) so the fan automatically runs from early evening to morning. Few, if any, mosquitoes manage to hitch rides into the house now, making it more comfortable for us all.The only thing I would change would be to make the mounting bracket better articulated, or allow more finite adjustment of the fan, once installed. We have this attached to the house beneath an eave, where it's mostly sheltered, and have experienced trouble-free operation for about 3 years now.
