How do I size my fan and shutters system?
1. The first thing that you need to determine is the amount of air required. This is stated in CFM (Cubic Feet of Air per Minute).
2. Use the following formula to determine the CFM required for your greenhouse:
CFM = Length x Width x Height
Example: Greenhouse 12' wide x 24' long x 12' high requires 3456 CFM (12 x 24 x 12 = 3456).
3. Reference the above table. Select the appropriate combination of fan(s) to achieve the necessary CFM rating. Be sure to match the total CFM output for your exhaust fan(s) to the CFM ratings for your Inlet Shutters.

24 inch Aluminum Shutter
So far, so good! I bought a pair of these to replace some PVC louver shutters that completely failed during a "bomb cyclone" we had in March 2019. These aluminum ones are a more rigid material, so they don't have the problem of flexing in high winds and blowing apart. They've already been through 50 mph winds with 60 mph gusts, and I do not anticipate that they'll have any problems with the 80-100 mph winds we sometimes get here, but time will tell. One word of advice though, they will flop open if hit with a direct blast of wind, so if that's a problem in your area, you might want to install a protective barrier over them when it's very windy.

Terrible - Waste of money
I would recommend that you look elsewhere when buying these operating louvered shutters. I purchased 2 shutter kits for my greenhouse in June of 2017 and installed them later in the year in August or September. Not only did one of the shutters fall apart during the first really windy day in October, but when I called customer service, they told me that it didn't matter that the shutters had only been installed for one month, they were not responsible for any warranty on them. Additionally, the other shutter is now coming apart. I have found that the design of the operator pull chain routing on double panel vents is most likely the cause of the problem. I cannot post a picture on this review but I can try to describe the problem. The operator is mounted below the vent and the two chains are attached to the actuator lever on the operator. The other ends of the chains are attached to the upper end of the louver styles near the end of the return spring. The chain creates a V from the motor to the styles. Looking at it from the operator side or from inside the greenhouse, the chain going to the right side of the vent is not a problem. When the operator pulls this chain, the stresses on the style to louver connection rivets is carried by the individual brackets. However, on the left side, the stresses are carried totally by the fragile aluminum rivets. Over time, these have failed and now I have two worthless pieces of aluminum. I am not even going to try to contact their customer service department this time. Oh, and to add to this, the operator for the first louver is now jammed and is also added to the junk pile. This was a complete waste of money.
