The XtraSun Ballast features a vented exterior, an interior component separator that reduces heat-damage risk over prolonged use, and a 100°C-rated capacitor to increase heat resistance potential. All of this works together with the cool-running, long-lasting aluminum design and dual-voltage versatility with 120V and 240V operation.

The 1000W XtraSun Ballast can be purchased to work exclusively with High Pressure Sodium Bulbs, Metal Halide Bulbs, or both, with the Convertible Ballast. The Convertible Ballast changes from HPS to MH bulbs with the simple flip of a switch. Growers often use MH bulbs for getting plants started, and HPS bulbs for flowering.
