Serious horticulturists use this PRO-MIX growing medium when they need a stable, growth-promoting base for container applications. PRO-MIX BX uses biofungicide to ward off disease and mycorrhizae to retain moisture. Combined with a 75-85% sphagnum peat base and an introductory fertilizer, the result is PROMIX soil that is productive in many applications. Use it to start young foliage plants in trays, transplant vegetables to larger pots, grow perennial flowering plants in hanging baskets and much more. The starter fertilizer will be used up within 10 days, at which point you should begin a new program.

At Greenhouse Megastore, we sell PRO-MIX with Mycorrhizae in 2.8 cubic-foot loose-fill bags and 3.8 cubic-foot compressed bags. The compact bales expand to seven cubic feet of loose fill, giving you enough for 90 one-gallon plant pots. Both sizes can be ordered as a single bag or in pallets, letting commercial greenhouses and farmstand owners stock up. We guarantee the lowest price on all-around PROMIX soil.

PRO-MIX BX General-Purpose Growing Medium Features:

  • Contains Mycorrhizae: Mycorrhizal inoculum (Glomus intraradices) with PTB297 technology.
  • Peat-based growing medium with perlite and vermiculite.
  • Ideal for the production of vegetable transplants in large cell trays.
  • High water retention capacity.
  • pH adjusted for balance.
  • The 2.8 cubic-foot loose bag is 25-35 pounds while the 3.8 cubic-foot compact bag is 60-75 pounds (equivalent to seven cubic feet of loose growing medium).

About Pallet Size

We are now offering a new bulk ordering size for some of our most popular growing media: the pallet size. Due to certain shipping factors, we are able to offer an entire product pallet for the same shipping cost as smaller bulk orders. For this product, a single pallet consists of (30) 3.8 cubic foot bags or (57) 2.8 cubic foot bags of Pro-Mix. We believe this will be a great option for schools and commercial institutions.

Appreciate this mixture

I used this in my raised beds but added the additional fertilizer and compost directly with the pro-mix. My vegetable gardens thrived and had a bountiful harvest. I will definitely purchase again.

Works Great!

I potted up over a hundred seedlings this year (what was I thinking?). The texture of Pro-Mix is perfect to work with and all of my seedlings did well.

The best I have found

Pro-Mix seems to have everything my vegetable and flower seedling need when I "pot them on" as the British say.
It also works for the edible geranium flowers I grow in my light tray. They produce best in 4" pots of Pro Mix watered with rain water.
Two bags it in a 65 gallon wheeled trash container to stay dry and be moved to where needed.
I'm not sure the delivery company loves it, but I do.

Wonderful seed starting medium

I love pro mix for starting my seeds each spring. I’ve been using it for years with great success.

No fail seed starting

I love this product! Haven't lost any seedlings since I started using it. Convenience is a plus too. The extra I pay for this is negated by the labor I spend for the mixing.

BX

I have used BRK and HP in the past, try to stick with Promix even though it is peat based.
