The very best pellet for seed starting! Each one contains weed-free professional grade Canadian Sphagnum peat.
Add water, and the Jiffy 7 Peat Pellets quickly swell to 7x its original size to become a perfect self contained pot with its own perfect medium for starting seeds. Seeds are nurtured within the pellet to germinate faster into young seedlings. It is held together by fine netting, ensuring optimum air/water exchange. Roots emerge easily through the porous walls of the pellet as a result of the enhanced air circulation created by the unique design. The superior root development then assures stronger, healthier plants for transplanting.
The Jiffy 7 Peat Pellet - after your plant has started - goes directly into the ground. As a result, no transplant shock occurs, and the plant has full vigor to mature faster. All the young, thender roots remain totally intact.

I have used this product before works great
Can't beat the price for these
I was always searching the web for the best price on peat pellets. Would normally buy the 36 mm plugs on Amazon for about 10 cents each. These are a tad bigger (42 mm) but the price for the box came out to about 5 cents per pellet. I like starting my vegetables and flowers in pellets under grow lights. I've always had great success with Jiffy. I understand peoples concern with the netting issues at the end of the year when the plants are pulled up. I feel eventually it will breakdown and not be an issue. If you need a lot of pellets, you can't beat the price on these.
Great for starting tiny light germinate seeds s
I've been growing a lot of drought tolerant sedums for ground cover, and these Jiffy 7 Peat pellets work great. I get almost 100% germination, and they are super easy to use.
Jiffy peat pellets
Fantastic! Seeds did well the roots were coming out the sides. I just put them in the 1020 trays. They are a good size.
stupendous...will order this again...i find the best way to water is picking a central cell, pick up the pellet and water there, filling the whole tray from the bottom
These were as advertised!I have ordered many items from IGC and I'm a very happy customer! I would not hesitate to order from this company.
Not so good
Well I wish I could give these a 5, but so far out of 140 planted pellets I have 9 plants. These are over heated plant pads and under T5 plant lights. I will give them a month or two and then resubmit a review.
These expand to 1 3/4 x 1 3/4They shipped quickly and were well packaged. Very satisfying service.
Great for Seed Starting
I have been using the peat plugs for the past four years in my greenhouse. I usually start 400-800 plants per year for my yard. These little charmers make seed starting a snap.
NOT WHAT I EXPECTED
I thought I was ordering peat pellets only but these came with the flimsy inset tray that holds them. The peat pellets are good, I just didn't need those long trays.
Good germination rates
Had between 85 to 99 % germination rate with the jiffy peat pots.
Jiffy starter plug
Arrived quickly and was as described. Good value if you are ordering a lot at one time.
Buy Companion Trays
My seeds without trays, did not grown. The pads need proper ventilation and containment to stay moist.
recent products purchased
as to the Jiffy 7 pellets. i had an 87 percent germination rate with just 1 seed per pellet. best ive ever done and the plants look strong and healthy
Jiffy Pellets are very good
I use the 40mm jiffy pellets with the tray insert for 50 pellets.I sprout my seed in plates and transfer the sprouted seed to the Jiffy Pellets which are excellent in raising vegetable plants. Just set the whole pellet with the plant in the ground, No transplant shock. I highly recommend this to anyone.
Excellent quality in comparison to some other items I bought online. Packaging was tops and shipping was fast. Megastore will be my 1st choice on future purchases.
Jiffy 7 Peat cups
Good product for starting large seeds (squash, melon).
Reliable Rooting Medium
I've known about Jiffy 7's for years. Jiffy 7's are very good for making plant cuttings root. It's amazing so many gardening centers do not carry them. Thank goodness I found them at Greenhouse Megastore.
Jiffy Peat Pellets Work Great
I am an owner of a company that designs seed storage containers because I start my garden from seed. I've tried other methods but prefer and recommend folks use these Jiffy Pellets to start seeds in as they reduce stress on the plants when you transition them to hardening off and eventually to the garden or container. Roots are secure in the netting which we have tested. Planted 2 identical plants in same lighting conditions in and out of the Jiffy Peat Pellet and there was no difference in growth rate or production of produce in either one. My biz partner & I start over 1,000 between us every year...more if we had the room! Thank you for supplying this great product!
They Are what They Are
Peat Pellets make great starts for seeds. While it is still winter, I have used a couple dozen of these with a few different sorts of seeds. The lettuce wanted to start (whether in the pellet or not) on its own, but the kohlrabi is really slow. Wet them and let them grow, and then use them when they are damp (wet will kill the seed) and get an early start. In this quantity, no problem with running out halfway through a project. Grow Grow Grow.
fast service, good products, at a very good price, can't ask for more.
I start virtually all plants in my garden from seed so I use a lot of peat pellets. They were exactly what I wanted.
Jiffy peat pellets
These are great for starting seeds and transplanting without disrupting their roots. They are slightly bigger than what I can buy locally which is great since the plants can get a better root system before planting.
These are great to use but not practical for me because I Pot up lots of plants. I did use it in the house just to fill one small pot. It is great just for a last minute project. Just put the jiffy pellets in the pot add water, and stir when it breaks apart. They are also easy to store.
Jiffy Peat Pellets
Great deal and quick shipping = will buy from again! Thank You!!
Good product, very convenient
Peat pellets are very convenient and easy to use for all the different types of seeds I've tried. I usually put them directly in the garden after the seedlings have grown their second set of leaves and I've had good success.
The peat pellets are the perfect size for all my existing Jiffy stuff. They are very very slightly smaller (maybe 2 mm), which I prefer, because it makes them slightly easier to remove to poof up and tear open the hole more at the top. These are the exact size, quality, quantity, and price that I want.
I use these every year, love them! So simple to use and felt this was a good price for them too.
they work perfect, best price
Jiffy Pellets reduce labor
In the past, I have always germinated in trays and then transplanted to pots. The Jiffy Pellets allow me to pot up pre-germnated seed and then pot up to 4 pots for sale. Saves work.
Love them, makes transplanting so much easier...less stress on plant.
I am a small commercial producer. These pellets really make my life easier when starting my seeds. These are easy to hydrate and, once the seeds come up, it makes it very easy to transfer to larger growing cells. There is no shock to the plants as the entire pellet is transferred. I highly recommend the Jiffy 7 Peat Pellets.
Useful and Easy
These are easy to use. I don't have to worry about the dirt mess, and, they can be planted in the ground without disturbing the plant roots - that frequently happens when removing plants from their individual cells. Lots of times, when I purchase pre-started plants from the store, the roots are overgrown and I have to soak them in water for quite a while to untangle the roots. This is a good solution. Too bad the growers don't adopt them
Easy Seed Germination
These Jiffy pellets are great, just soak in water and they swell up, they are held together with netting for less mess, just drop a seed, or a cutting in and watch them grow!
