I received the kit quickly with some issues in the shipping. Meg from customer service was amazingly helpful and had another shipped to me from the manufacturer and even helped get us a missing part free of charge for the second kit. This greenhouse is quite sturdy and easy to install, while the company's staff was working to resolve issues that were not theirs. I will not give five stars only because of the extra time I was cost in the transaction for this particular purchase but I will not hesitate to order from this company in the future for supplies and new components. Thank you Meg!
The greenhouse arrived as scheduled. All parts were included and with no damage to the product.
Great Product and great service! Was emailed and updated right away! Spoke with someone named Debbie P. who helped walk me through the steps I needed to ship product out to me. Great and fast service with awesome follow through! If purchasing a greenhouse will definitely purchase through Greenhouse Megastore again! Thank you Debbie! Loyal Customer all the way out in Hawaii!
Frame is decent. Cover doesn't last long.
We've had this a bit less than two years. Frame is sturdy and has survived lots of high winds, though we did a lot of extra anchoring to hold it to the ground. The frame does flex significantly (not individual bars, but the whole frame, side-to-side), in windy weather. In our first season using it, the flexing knocked over a whole greenhouse bench of plants. We changed the bench design and solved the bench falling problem, but not the flexing. The bigger problem is that the cover just does not last. After the first season, the zippers were becoming almost inoperable and there were a number of small rips at various stress points. We reinforced them with greenhouse tape, and got almost one more season out of the cover. Now, as we approach the end of two years, the cover is basically shredded. The door and window flap is totally non functionally, and the material is literally coming apart at almost all of the seams and stress points. The south facing side (sunny side) even has random tears and rips in seemingly stress-less locations on the flat panel faces. Our farm neighbors, who also have this same model have had the same experience. I had hoped/expected to get at least 3 or 4 years out of this covering, so I'm disappointed with this product even though it is fairly inexpensive.
Product quality is very good. The assembly instructions could have used a few sentences for clarity. There were dozens of machine screws of the same diameter and thread pitch, but in three lengths differing by only an 8th of an inch. They should have been packaged in separate bags instead of all together.
This greenhouse is perfect for us, provides a large amount of room and is sturdy. The only thing was the directions we received were pictures only, easy to understand but would prefer written instructions. Would highly recommend though for the money !
Great for the price
Purchased my 10 X 20 two years ago and now working on the third year. Well worth the cost. Has survived two years of our notorious Idaho winds. The covering is staring to show some ware caused by a combination of high concentrations of U V ( we are over 3500 feet elivation ) and our persistent winds. I patched the ware areas with the tape of the same covering substance last fall. I think I can get a third year out of it in this area. The framework has shown no signs of cracking at the welds or elsewhere.nIt has shown no notable change in light penetration and is great for the plants I grow in it. I purchased a replacement cover. Defiantly worth the money.
Easy to assemble - with one person it took about 8hrs considering site selection and everything. With only the 4 anchors it came with it withstood 40 MPH winds no problem. The tall side walls let you put in shelves which makes a huge difference in the over all sq.ft. you get for your plants. We are a 2 acre small farm and it is the perfect size for our starts and easy to heat with propane.
It is mid November and I took off the cover today. Two of the last four days had winds with a steady 30 to 40 MPH and gusts up to 65 MPH. No real damage occured. Not even a torn zipper. I would say that was a pretty good test. It worked great all spring, summer and fall. I built bipod pot hangers on both sides and maintained up to 200 ten inch hanging baskets in it. I was pleased with how easy it was to maintain proper temperature. I was at first concerned about the light quantity but very pleased in the end. I am very happy that I purchased it and I am quite sure it will hold up one or two more years. You can't beat what you get for the money you invest here.
We just moved to a new location and bought this greenhouse as a temporary shelter so our citrus trees could overwinter until we are able to build a new permeant greenhouse next spring. We specially bought from Greenhouse Megastore because it could be shipped in time (2 days) for us to set it up before the forecasted frost coming four days later. The framing for the greenhouse was very easy to install with two persons. Unfortunately, we couldn't complete the install because 2 critical poles were missing along with 4 other parts. We just emailed Shelter Logic requesting the missing parts. Let's hope they arrive in time to complete the install and avoid frost damage to our trees.
Well worth the money and time
This unit is well worth your time if you are looking for a quick set up and don't want to put out a lot of time and money. It took me about six hours to set up the frame and another two to put the covering on. I worked by myself and I am a over mature male ( 70 last Sep. ). It was best for me to sort out all the parts including the three lengths of screws. No parts were missing and there is a lot of them. Most of the parts have numbers stamped on them. Realize, smaller pieces are les expensive to ship. The completed unit does fit snug to the ground on all four sides and should help keep out the frost. I didn't think the corner anchors would screw down into our hard pan soil, so I placed concrete plugs below soil depth. I found the pictorial directions adequate. It would have been very difficult to explain the building procedure, and confusing, in verbiage. As another reviewer stated, don't over tighten the covering. If you over tighten, it coul rip, and the ends they won't seal against the ground. I also placed a piece of metal electrical pipe in the bottom pocket to weight it down to the ground and keep it from blowing around. It comes with pipe to weight down the sides in a similar way. I'm going to criss cross the sides with 1/8 metal rope to give the unit more structure since sping time here is wind time. I'm pleased with ease of putting up the unit and the price and free shipping is hard to beat.
Pole pieces and screws come in a heap that you spend hours sorting out. Poor instruction sheet. Two competent males took many hours setting this up. Not true roll-up.Only rolls up 2 feet on bottom. Bottom also fairly open and not a tight seal. however, excellent value for the quality of fabric and size.
Nice product with reasonable price but crap directions. I put together and took apart several times. At the end the cover does not quite meet the ground because the anchors are too far apart. There should be a note about this sine it is the 1st thing you do!
The greenhouse was a bit difficult to assemble mostly because of the minute difference in the nuts and bolts. However all the parts were there and it is a substantial product. I am glad I bought it.
10' x 20' Peak Style Greenhouse
Easy to erect - instructions are all in pictures, no words. Fabulous price for size with free shipping! Best greenhouse deal we have found.
Impressive greenhouse in a box. Quality materials that my 56 year old sister and myself (58) were able to assemble with sturdy, fit like a glove results. We did swap the anchor augers with 36 inch ones as the ones provided were too short for our Florida sand. We are using it as a nursery for my sister's signature Angel Trumpets and the plants are loving it! Excellent value for the price and fairly easy assembly makes this a great addition to our business.
I am in Florida, so this is in use as a greenhouse ONLY from Thanksgiving until early March. I remove the plastic then, and only have shadecloth up. For this purpose, it has met my needs well. I have had it two years. Getting the plastic off in early March is not easy, but not difficult. The cover does NOT fit perfectly. I have to use a side sheet as it is not to the ground. This I place inside prior to the big sheet going up. I also use strips and nail the side panels down as our winter winds blow them hard. The flaps are not flush, so I have to tape them closed on the corners. However, again, I am in Florida and this is what I planned for. A small heater is used on the coldest nights only. Putting it up requires three people, at least for me. It took time, not the fastest.
Preparation pays off
We were a little nervous about the other reviews because they all centered around unclear instructions. What we found was that the instructions were all drawings . . . no detailed written words. Here is the strategy we used, and I highly recommend it:Organize all the poles by number and take inventory before you start anything. Get 2 or 3 containers for the nuts and bolts and label them by number - again take inventory so you know ahead of time that you have everything. We assembled the frame on a Saturday afternoon and put the covering on on Sunday. That was also a good way to go about it. It isn't all that difficult, but it pays to be super methodical! We are very pleased with the result and feel we got just the right greenhouse for our purposes!
I bought the greenhouse for my husband for Christmas 2012 and he put it up in April 2013. We were very pleased during the growing season, but in February 2014 we found 4 large horizontal tears in the top of the canopy. This is before we got any snow. Big investment for one year of use!
It is plastic
This green house does work good, but DO NOT leave it up during the summer!!! The summer sun destroyed the plastic and now that winter is here, the winds have just shredded it. It only lasted one year. Also, I used thin PVC pipe across the front and back (there are slots in the plastic, but nothing is provided with the kit) to keep it from flapping in the wind.
This is the greatest structure for a true gardener. Can't wait to put it to use in February.
Very good for the money.solid construction
Decent product, Awful Assembly
This greenhouse is made of decent quality. I cannot comment on how well it holds up to weather conditions and storms year round yet though, because I've only had it up for less than a month in the month of August. The one problem I can foresee is that it is not as sealed at the edges to hold out windy rains from getting in, and from weed seeds that blow all over the place when the grass is cut. It should be sealed better with more overlap between the sides and top so things can't get in easily. The main complains I have has already been stated consistently by other reviews. That is the poor instructions for assembling the greenhouse. There is no good excuse for sending instructions that are so poor. Many times during assembling, we had questions that were not answered or explained at all in the instructions. There are NO written instructions, just pictures. I'm sure they do that one set of instructions can work for all places around the world with minimal need to change language sections. Well, that's called poor quality service! Also, when we called to get help with one part of the assembling, we sat on hold for over 15 minutes out in the hot sun while trying to figure out the instructions, and finally hung up. Again, poor customer service. So I give it 3 stars for the product itself, and I'm hoping we'll like it for many years. Would I buy another product from this company? Unless I knew for sure the assembly instructions were GREATLY improved, absolutely not!
at first it didn't seem to work, but then a neighbor informed me that the white stuff wasn't meant as a floor but should go over the frame, seems to be working fine now
This greenhouse was a lot harder to erect than the instructions implied. It took us several hours to put up. Also, the instructions say to put the front and back panels on before the sides. That is not a good idea, because it gets very hot in the greenhouse when you're trying to secure the sides. Otherwise, I really like the greenhouse itself, although we're going to have to figure out a way to keep grasshoppers out.
awesome!!! its great holds up but hopefully in the winter time it will hold up to. we are growing so many things with this house! holds nicely in storms.
Took longer to set up than we expected but it is very sturdy and stands up to our very strong winds.
