  • Perfect
Great texture, mats together really well after a few waterings, and happy it comes from an organic source (so I'm presuming no glyphosate/etc. was used on the source crop). Yeah some grassy weeds will sprout out of it but that's not a big deal for me.
  • Full of Seeds
Disappointed. I wanted to like this product, but I am getting so many blades of grass sprouting. Not seedless advertised.
  • Sprouting all over
Like others, I’m having seeds sprout from the straw. Very disappointing as straw isn’t supposed to have seeds.
  • little to no seeds for me
been loving this product for 2 seasons, haven’t experienced any weeds really. the occasional green sprout here and there but it’s extremely obvious and easy to pull while watering. helps retain moisture very well and easily distributed among my many veggie plants
  • Full of Seeds
Used this to mulch 3 hard neck garlic beds this past winter. Since it was my first season with a veggie garden, I didn't realize that all the beautiful growth I was seeing was actually some kind of grain. It became more obvious when I noticed actual wheat grains appearing at the tops. Now, it's May and garlic should be harvested in the next 1 - 2 months. After hours of cutting back the wheat growth, all I see are small and stunted garlic in all 3 beds. I ordered 3 bales, since I'd planned to mulch the other beds as well. Thankfully, I didn't. Now, I've almost 2 whole bales left of unusable straw mulch.
  • love this product
Love this garden straw. Sure there are a few seeds that sprouts from the straw but i do not find it a big deal to pull. Use this as mulch in my raised beds and have also used it to top my compost bin when i dont have browns.
  • Loaded with seeds
I really wanted this to work abs it did until all the little wheat blades started popping up everywhere! I’m worried it’ll compete with my garlic for nutrients!
  • Way better than wood chips
I HATE wood chips and when I first saw some videos with straw mulch, I wanted to try it out. I found this stuff from the Epic Gardening channel and bought 5 bags. I used it to mulch everything in 2021 and loved it. I did have some grass sprouts, but it wasn't too bad and I can live with the occasional sprouts if I don't have to deal with wood chip mulch ever again.
  • so far so good
as of now, half the reviews say no seeds, half say lots of seeds. I wanted to chime in and say that I have not experienced seeds at all. I love this straw. for my small garden it's not unreasonably priced, and two bags go a long, long way for me.
  • Finally Organic
I've been looking for an organic mulch for my veggie garden for the last 4 years! No round up here!! Feels nice and fluffy looks excellent and smells great! Highly recommend. 1 bag fills a 3" layer in a 4x8 bed fyi.
  • Not great
The straw has many seeds which straw should not have. The “grass” that has grown in my pots is much harder to pull out than the few bits of grass which sprout from salt marsh hay so I am going back to using the salt marsh hay. Disappointed.
  • Not seedless
Bought because it said it was seedless. I had grass growing up everywhere I spread this. I am also worried there might be a product in the straw since the tomato’s don’t look healthy as they should.
  • Great quality and fast delivery
I couldn’t source this locally in San Diego, so I made my first order her. Great quality and came packaged safely with fast delivery!
