1. Fill it
Place your grass clippings, shredded leaves and other organic material into the Bio-Orb and moisten the contents with a garden hose - being careful not to saturate the contents. Close the lid and roll the Bio-Orb to mix the contents.
2. Roll it
Roll the Bio-Orb every two to ten days. Rolling more often than every two days will not allow proper heat build-up while rolling less often than every ten days won't provide enough oxygen to the contents to ensure the fast Bio-Orb composting times.
3. Compost it
Roll the Bio-Orb to where the compost is needed. Pop open the lid and empty the compost through the large opening.

Our bio-orb lasted 20 years +
It's almost indestructible. Didn't use the lid much so that more wildlife could feast & stay. It's grand size helped heat things up & put out ALOT of compost. The plastic stands up to pitch forks, etc. Was so full that I stopped rolling the thing & roots grew thru then anchored it to the earth. Buying a new one soon!
Lid does not fit. Impossible to roll as contents fall out. A total waste of money.
Durable as heck
I am looking for a new bio-orb after a tree fell on my old one. These products are incredibly durable, mine was over 15 years old. I have enjoyed years of great tasting veggies from the output of my cow-spotted orb. When the neighbors kid was growing up, he was amazed at why I was putting grass in my orb? I told him What do cows eat?He said: Grass.I told him my cow-spotted orb was a cow egg and I was making cows... Thanks again for my cow egg.
So far great!
This is my first try at composting. I started on April 2 and now April 19, I can see breakdown taking place. I can't wait to see the finished product! The only complaint I may have is the difficulty in snapping the lid in place. Twice while rolling the lid has popped off. I do think that it is becoming easier with use. It was very easy to put together .
It does what it says it does and does it well! Nice design (so nice it was used as a prop in Star Trek!), light without compost and easy to move even when full. Material will last a long time as the plastic it uses is weather resistant.Good buy all around.
10 years and counting
Have had this product for approx 10 years. Garden size is 20' x 15'. Ranch house of approx 1500 sq ft. surrounded by 3' wide flower bed. This product works. I fill and empty 3 to 4 times a year. Only fill to half full at start, add about 1 gallon of old compost, water well and spread/add about a cup of nitrogen of soda. Wait about 3 or 4 days and add a couple of dozen red wiggler worms. I add food scraps, leaves, grass clipping continuously to 3/4 full. I will empty the orb into a corner of the garden when ready and start a new batch. I add leaves, grass, shredded credit card statements and applications late in year, nitrogen, gallon of old compost and over winter. Need a great product that really works, look no further
Very easy to use
This is an excellent product, very easy to assemble - reading the directions helps. I love that I just fill it up, roll it around and wait for the compost - then you roll to to where you need it. No turning with a pitch fork, or carrying the compost to where it is needed in a wheelbarrow, very good for one person to handle. Very good price.
I purchased this product last year. The price is good, but consider the weight after you throw in the composting material. I use half way otherwise it is hard to rolling. Also the cover is not secure and just fall out when I roll and everything came out on my patio.
We are new to gardening & wanted to try composting. Since there was no variety locally I researched online & this seemed to be the best for the price. It is big & easy to roll around but the lid does not fit well at all. Hopefully when the weather turns warm we won't have a problem with critters & will have good fertilizer.
Really Cool if it Works
We have only had this for a week now but have been shopping for a composter for months but could not agree on one because they were either too expensive, too ugly or looked too hard to manage. I must say I was not impressed when it came folded in half and taped up makeshift in a box, but our kids fell in love with it as soon as they saw it assembled (it says clearly that it is not a toy on the outside, but that did not stop them from climbing inside it and rolling each other around). It looks like an alien left a pod in your yard which is better than someone left an ugly trashcan on your lawn like most composters. I only hope it works. We dumped a good deal of our compost heap into it and hope to finish it off since it was not getting hot enough in a heap and was hard to turn well. My husband was impressed how much fit in it. I hope to be able to roll the compost over to where we can use it instead of scooping into a wheelbarrow. It seems reasonably sturdy for the price and easy to assemble. A few weeks & we will know if it produces the goods, but it sure looks cool sitting out there! It will not let you make compost tea, but if you can roll it around, scoop the leaves and goodies directly in and then roll it away, then I can live without that feature! If it works, we may get a couple going out there so we can have new compost going all the time.
Simply great idea!
I wanted an inexpensive, easy to use composter that doesn't require a lot of space. I found it...the Bio-Orb. So simple to use!
