With all the colors of a hardwood forest in autumn, this unusual sunflower is perfect for fresh-cut bouquets. Each plant bursts forth with multiple 6 to 8 inch flowers in shades of yellow, gold and brick-red around chocolate brown centers. Blooms late summer to frost.
Plant seeds outdoors after the last frost and soil has warmed to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Cultivate and enrich the soil. Sow seeds, cover with soil and keep moist until seedlings are established.
Water when the top 3-inch layer of soil is dry. Fertilize once or twice. May require staking.
