ORIUSforce™ for Thrip Control

ORIUSforce™ Biological Control features Orius insidiosus (also known as the minute pirate bug) is an aggressive predator used mainly to prevent and control multiple species of thrips while also feeding on aphids, spider mites, and whiteflies. This 3mm predator attacks and kills all mobile stages of thrips (larvae and adults), various species of spider mites, and moth eggs. Orius insidiosus uses its long rostrum (feeding tube) to pierce and drain its target pests.

Adult female Orius insidiosus lays two to three eggs per day within plant tissue. Nymphs pass through five stages before maturing into an adult, which takes about three weeks. Adults live an additional three to four weeks. A single Orius insidiosus will consume about 12 thrips a day, but will kill up to 45.

How it works:
Adult Orius feed on all mobile thrips stages, including larvae and adults, as well as spider mites, aphids, and whiteflies. Nymphs primarily target thrips larvae. Both stages can survive on pollen and may be supplemented with NUTRIforce™.

• Use Sites: Greenhouses, Indoor Facilities, Fields, Gardens, Orchards
• Supported Crops: Vegetable Crops, Fruit Crops, Ornamental Crops, Hemp/Cannabis, Tree & Shrub Nursery
• Targeted Pests: Thrips spp, Mites spp, Aphids spp, Many soft-bodied pests
