The NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) System is an intermediate hydroponic system great for growing leafy greens and keeping them at ideal nutrient and climate levels. This level of control can help reduce production time and increase the quality of the crops. The channel layout of the NFT System allows for easy access to any of the plants.
An additional value of NFT-grown crops is their increased shelf life. A plant's root system can be easily pulled from the channel, trimmed and shipped intact, allowing the crops to maintain crispness and quality from the time of their harvest to their consumption. NFT hydroponics is great for growing bibb, romaine and leaf lettuces along with basil, kale, arugula, and other leafy greens.
The NFT System comes in four different sizes to meet production needs. The name of each refers to the number of growing channels and their length. For example, the Hydroponics NFT System 8-25 has 25 growing channels that are each eight feet long. Accessory kits are also available, including a Starter Hydroponics Supply Kit for the NFT System 4-6 and a Grow Light Support Rack for the NFT System 8-4.
