The Jiffy 7C Coco Pellets contain 100% RHP-certified coco-substrate enclosed in netting. This coco-substrate is manufactured at Jiffy's own plant in Sri Lanka, and is made using a by-product of the coconut industry. The netting is made from Poly Lactic Acid (PLA). (Corn, or other raw material, is fermented to produce lactic acid, which is in turn polymerized to make the PLA.) This material is 100% biodegradable. The net is made using the non-woven technology creating a non-symmetrical array of PLA fibers. This netting has flexibility to its structure and often observations suggest this net gives a softer texture pellet when squeezed. Roots penetrate through the net through constant pressure as the root elongates. Rooting plants which prefer well-aerated, fast draining plugs benefit particularly well from the Jiffy-7C.
