Deep Roots = Better Melon and Squash Seedlings

I bought the Square Black Form Pots 3.5" Deep Square pots to grow melon and squash seedlings for our spring plant sale because you're not supposed to disturb the roots of seedlings when transplanting to your garden. I wanted to give the seedlings a chance to develop strong roots before transplanting. These pots are great! They are not the sturdiest, but I can see that they could be reused with a good wash, to get another season or two of use from them. They fit the 1020 Extra Heavy Duty Trays fairly well, three rows across the width of the trays and don't topple over.

Both 4.5" and 3.5" pots

4.5" deep seem to crack easily when filling for transplants. They are more roomy for roots and buys time if seedlings become too big too fast. Good size for plant sales too. I moved to 3.5" pots -more sturdy to cracking, but they are top heavy when moving trays to GH or to harden off. Maybe their holder is the answer, havent tried it. Both sizes clean up easily for reuse (if I get any back) The canning jars and seedling pots rarely get saved or returned of any size.

Great Product

I have used these for several years and they work perfect. I reuse these with no issues. Saves time as I don't have to transplant.

Luv these pots! Wish I had ordered MORE of them.

Recently ordered two sets of 18 of these 3.5" Deep Square Nursery pots (3.5" L x 3.5" W x 5 H) and the only problem with them is I wish I had ordered a lot MORE!
At 70, I'm not able to do many of the things I want to accomplish but try to help where and when I can by supporting a local non-profit that has built four free community gardens where everyone is welcome to "help as you can and take what you need".
Something I am able to do is to start a lot of plants (mostly tomatoes) for them. Transplanted 35 Red Snapper young tomato plants into these new 3.5" deep square pots yesterday and I am so impressed with their quality and sturdiness. They should last for several years.
Also bought a set of ten 1020 trays from Greenhouse Megastore and all of my new pots and trays have been lettered with my name using a silver Sharpie because I really, really want to get them back when after the tomatoes are transplanted into the gardens in early March (Central Texas, 8b/9a).
Thank you for providing such great quality products!

3.5" Deep Square

I was doing a fundraiser for my church and had over 2000 plants for sale. I got these pots and ended up ordering more. They worked perfectly for our needs. Sturdy enough and uniform display. I would gladly order them again for our next fundraiser. One note.... Due to My lack of judgment, the empty pots warped in the sun. Do not store the empty pots in the sun! That being said these pots are a very good value.

Great.

Usually go through a box or two with spring sales. Holds plants well. Drains well. Labels stick well (l use printed side labels). Comes free when planting.

The pots worked well for our purposes

We appreciated being able to buy the pots in bulk, and they have been of good quality. No complaints.
