Place the proper amount of spikes beneath the surface of the soil as close to the roots as possible. Use a pencil or similar object. Cover the holes and water the plant on a normal basis for the first seven to twelve days for the polymer to fully absorb water. Watering reductions and rates can then be established. Some varieties of water-loving plants may require one to two more spikes per container size.
I use moss in my garden ICU to encourage root growth for almost dead transplants and large hardwood cuttings (and also for air-layering). Admittedly this product is pricey but it works very well and could be reused. I tried other store-bought moss but none worked as well as Oregon Green Moss - that could be because it's fresher. By the way, I learned this technique from Peter Chan, a bonsai master and owner of Herons Bonsai.
It;s really hard to find a product like this locally so I was very glad to find it on your site. I use it to line my hanging baskets to keep them from drying out quickly. This works great. Thanks for having it in stock!
There were no reviews when i bought, so i risked it. Glad I did! This moss comes dried in a compacted cube, is tan and pale green. Adds a great wild look to my hanging baskets and arrangements.
