Illinois Crop Improvement, located in Champaign, IL, recently completed a major expansion of their facility. As part of this project, their existing 30 ft x 72 ft double-poly inflated hoophouse was removed and replaced with a new 30 ft wide x 100 ft long greenhouse featuring an 8 ft under-gutter height.

The upgraded structure includes an engineered, roll-formed galvanized steel frame, 8mm clear twinwall polycarbonate sidewalls and endwalls, and a double 6 mil inflated roof system. Additional enhancements include column-welded base plates for installation on the customer’s existing concrete, a lower mechanical ventilation system with a sloped wall housing exhaust fans and motorized shutters, a gable ventilation system, gas-fired heaters, horizontal air flow fans, and an interior manual shade system.

This greenhouse is also equipped with a Link4 Pearl Integrated Controller, providing the client with remote access for monitoring and adjusting environmental settings.
