These deep root trainers are excellent quality. They fit together securely and feel like they’ll last for years. The tub they’re in is sturdy. I feel like I got more than my money’s worth on this one. The only drawback is the clear humidity dome. It is much sturdier than most I’ve seen, but compared to the rest of this material it seems flimsy. If there was an upgrade option for the clear dome, I would definitely buy it. GreenhouseMS, let me know if there is a suitable upgrade?

Sturdy and well priced, could be great BUT the little issues in the design are problematic for the following reasons: 1. The cell racks are not clam shell, they are 2 piece which would be fine except the interlock between the two halves is VERY weak, so they pop open very easily when being lifted out unless you are very careful or secure with something like a rubber band. 2. there is a little ‘foot’ at the bottom of each cell rack, it tends to catch on the one next to it making removal of the rack clumsy, which leads back to issue #1. 3. the racks fit so perfectly together its actually hard to lift one out even if the little foot does not catch. Overall these are pretty nice for the price, and great for a hobby level operation, but they at a little too inefficient for me to use to turn out seedlings in the volume I need.

They would be gold, but I wish the cells held together better. The two pieces of the cells tend to come apart when you are working with them. I bought some velcro straps to wrap around the cells to hold them together and love them. The product is heavy duty and I feel it is going to last me many years to come. I originally ordered 2 sets to start my seeds and test them out. I ordered 4 more because I like how deep the cells are to get a robust root system started on seedlings. The lid could be a little taller to allow for a bit more growth before having to remove the top and help with moisture control, but it is better than most. That is the two things I would change to get a 5 star Gold medal review. The cells hold together better and a deeper lid. Otherwise I love them enough that I ordered several more of them
