The winds this fall blew it apart.
I previously submitted my review of the Essence greenhouse unit. This is a followup review. The unit has withstood three severe winter rain storms with wids in the 15-20 MPH range. We have not found any leaks or damage. The two roof vents are adequate for mild days, but I anticipate needing a powered vent for our hot GA summers. I have added several of the Palram sheving units and find that they work well, even if they are not the easiest to install. I also recommend the plastic connectors which can be used for hanging plants. They are very easy to place into the frame channels and work well. The only reason that I have not given this unit 5 stars is because of the frame braces which stabilize the roof and sides. These braces make it difficult to use third party benches in the greenhouse. However at this price, it is still the best hobby unit on the market.
The kit for this greenhouse arrived promptly, in two boxes, well packed and in good order. We spent two full days preparing the foundation in order to be absolutely sure that it was level and square. Failure to pay attention to this detail will produce severe problems later on. The quality of the parts was excellent and the fit and finish was as good as I have seen on any hobby kit. There were only a couple of areas which require improvement. The first is the instructions. In fact, there are no written instructions, per se, only pictures. While this format was adequate for our needs, it can at times, be frustrating and certainly not for those who have little patience. The second area is the interior support rods. They give a great deal of rigidity and strength to the unit, but they also block the use of most pre-made shelving. It took two full days for two of us (experienced) to assemble this unit. For the price, this was the best unit we could find after extensive research. It should last for many years and we are pleased that we chose it.
It's great. Was not to hard to assemble. No more having to throw sheets over our plants!
Nice greenhouse for the money. Instructions could be a little better but ok. Lots of parts but it goes together good. Took almost 2 days to put it together by myself. 2 people are needed for parts of the process. Don't really like the braces inside. The 8x12 is plenty big for the hobby greenhouse person. Really like it so far.
Assembly took a little longer than anticipated and with the exception of the doors (flimsy), my Wife & I are both pleased with the product
I purchased this greenhouse and have never regretted it for a second. The ordering was easy. They shipped it to me right away, I never had to wait and wonder when it was coming. It came with all the parts and pieces as they said. My husband, who loves assembling things, put it together by himself in 16 hours, over two days. It went up easy, the instructions were great and the finished product is fabulous. I would buy this same greenhouse again if I needed another one. I have recommended it to my friends. It stands now, with very happy seedlings germinating for the spring garden. I am so glad I found this greenhouse after shopping several different places and products, I feel I scored!!!! I love it. A bit pricey, but worth it to me.And, I loved the Greenhouse Megastore. I called to ask a question before I purchased the greenhouse and the gentleman I spoke with gave me some great information and answered all my questions.
The structure was easily assembled by two people. It's sturdy and well designed; There is a couple inches of snow on the roof of the greenhouse right now with no sagging to speak of. I'd definitely buy another one.
First off let me say that it took me and a friend and my uncle at one point over 12 hours to assemble this greenhouse. It wasn't too complicated there was just a lot to do and we assembled it in the middle of winter and ran out of daylight in the process. With that being said it is a very sturdy greenhouse. The first night we had everything assembled but the door and support beams inside and the roof withstood 30-40mph wind gusts all night. The next day after the door was put on the greenhouse warmed up to 65 degrees just from the sun hitting it (it was roughly 15 degrees outside). It did cool down pretty quick at night, I'm going to try and put some caulking around the seems on the roof and hopefully that will do the trick.
This is a good kit, not too hard to assemble and really surprisingly sturdy. We had it up in around 7 hours with 2 working on it at first, then a group came to help and the instructions were largely ignored....follow the steps for best and easiest build! All in all, satisfied and have plants growing right now!!
