The edges of these panels are sewn with heavy-duty reinforcing tape. Brass grommets are installed on approx. 2' centers around the perimeter. Often includes a seam where two pieces of shade have been sewn together. Durable, easy to install with ropes, bungees or wire. Most durable solution for smaller areas where shade will be suspended between four points. Grommeted panels are sold in pre-cut sizes or can be ordered in any custom size.
A raw piece of shade fabric where edges of panel are not reinforced with any tape or grommets. Would not typically have a seam but may have a raw (cut) edge. Can be installed with wiggle wire, shade cloth clips or wooden lath. Precut Panels are sold in pre-cut sizes or can be ordered in any custom size.
Sold in factory widths by the linear foot. Would only rarely have a seam and sides typically include a factory finished (uncut) edge. Most cost effective solution for large quantities of shade fabric.

60% shade allows 40% light transmission. Aluminet is a special knitted screen made from metalized HDPE giving the fiber durability and longevity. These properties allow Aluminet to function like a mirror during summer months as its unique aluminized fibers reflect unwanted sunlight and heat from your greenhouse. These same properties also serve to retain valuable heat during the winter months. The shade is designed especially for internal use to be spread permanently as a ceiling beneath greenhouse roofs, or to be installed as a moveable thermal screen.
5 year prorated warranty against UV degradation
Depending on the size ordered, your shade fabric may contain a factory seam.
We guarantee our stock shade pieces will be within +/- 4" of the published dimensions. Accuracy has only very rarely been a problem, but keep in mind these variances.

When hanging shade cloth pieces larger than 100 sq. ft., you may need extra center support to prevent the cloth from sagging in the middle. One easy way to do this is by running lightweight cable from corner to opposite corner, forming an X pattern that the cloth can rest on. For pieces larger than 400 sq. ft., you may need cables running end to end every 4' or so.
My greenhouse has a west and south facing exposure-all windows with a clear roof. The temp inside was 120 before June with all windows open. The temp is now down to 100 and comfortable even at that temp. Exactly what I needed. Thank you.
I use this on a canopy frame for my outside orchids. The late afternoon sun in Calfornia can be harsh. So this fits the bill to give them enough sun, but not burn them. I also use a 50% Aluminet panel for the morning sun during the summer.
Excellent shade cloth! It's sturdy and well made. It diffuses the light rather than just blocking so everything is brighter.
Well made and durable..... had a 40% Aluminet for 2 years in Arizona with no visible photo destruction
Covered my greenhouse yesterday, brought the temp down from 107 to 94 during this heatwave here in So Texas. We screwed eye bolts into the greenhouse and tied it onto those using paranoid for easy removal in the fall. Love it!
Covered our 12x14 atrium with double pane, clear polycarbinate. Temp. went to 30-40 degrees higher then the rest of our home!!! The 60% aluminized screen has completely solved the problem. Top build quality with zero wind lift problems.
We used 60% and it reduced the greenhouse temperature 15 degrees more than 60% regular black shade cloth. Excellent product
I use the Aluminet to shade my Rotties at dog trials and shows. Works great. Allows the wind to blow through to help keep everyone comfortable while providing shade. I have enough shade cloth to cover my SUV and make walls for my canopy. My next piece of aluminet will be big enough to cover the top of my canopy.
I use this big shade to drape over my entire Transit Connect which is a tall van and it keeps my dogs cool at dog events. Plenty of air passes through the mesh.
I'm very happy with the prefabricated shadecloth. Grommets every two feet made it easy to attach and secure to my greenhouse. The old black shade cloth heated up the greenhouse. This one hasn't seemed to do that - I'll see what happens when the summer heats up. The orchids have responded very well to the aluminet shadecloth. So far the binding has held up to some very windy days.
