SureRoots Deep Cell Plug Trays

The hole is twice the size than the cheap pool creating similar but thinner 50 or 72... This allows for drainage of salts. The flats can be held with one hand full VERY carefully. These things are awesome.

I used these for maple seeds to sprout and grow. Perfect. I wish there was a jig to set the tray on to push the plugs out. I may make one! :)

Well made, thick plastic, deep root trays. Can reuse and are easy to handle. The trays fit into carrying trays for stability.

Not too thin and wispy like old-school retail nursery tray inserts that are super easy to tear, and not over the top beefy like big bomb-proof Proptek trays, these SureRoots inserts are exactly what I needed for all my 1020 trays. Securely handles lots of seedlings in cubes deep enough to eliminate most up-potting work while getting them big enough to transplant direct into garden. Tough enough to last many seasons, fit my 1020 trays perfectly, only minor downside is the very large drain holes on each plug cube, but a pinch of pine bark mulch stops the sprouting/potting mix from coming out the bottom. Love, love, love these plug trays.

5 inch depth will get the plant roots to grow down and not circle

I haven't yet used this product myself, it being early winter. But last year I bought plants from Prairie Moon Nursery and they were sent in this or a similar tray. I couldn't believe the great root growth those plants had. I've heard before that for most of the seedlings we commonly grow, depth of pot is more important than width, and I now believe it. I'm very excited to try these trays with this year's crop of seedlings.

I use the tall 50 plug trays to hold/support the cone trainers I use...the 50 plug trays fit perfectly in the 10X20 germination trays and allow for bottom watering.

Excellent and rugged seed trays. My only regret is that there aren't any "no hole" trays to put the deep cell 15 plug trays in.

Top quality seedling flats and trays, however the regular trays do not fit the Sureroots deep cell plug tray ???
