The edges of these panels are sewn with heavy-duty reinforcing tape. Brass grommets are installed on approx. 2' centers around the perimeter. Often includes a seam where two pieces of shade have been sewn together. Durable, easy to install with ropes, bungees or wire. Most durable solution for smaller areas where shade will be suspended between four points. Grommeted panels are sold in pre-cut sizes or can be ordered in any custom size.
A raw piece of shade fabric where edges of panel are not reinforced with any tape or grommets. Would not typically have a seam but may have a raw (cut) edge. Can be installed with wiggle wire, shade cloth clips or wooden lath. Precut Panels are sold in pre-cut sizes or can be ordered in any custom size.
Sold in factory widths by the linear foot. Would only rarely have a seam and sides typically include a factory finished (uncut) edge. Most cost effective solution for large quantities of shade fabric.

50% shade allows 50% light transmission. Aluminet is a special knitted screen made from metalized HDPE giving the fiber durability and longevity. These properties allow Aluminet to function like a mirror during summer months as its unique aluminized fibers reflect unwanted sunlight and heat from your greenhouse. These same properties also serve to retain valuable heat during the winter months. The shade is designed especially for internal use to be spread permanently as a ceiling beneath greenhouse roofs, or to be installed as a moveable thermal screen.
5 year prorated warranty against UV degradation
Depending on the size ordered, your shade fabric may contain a factory seam.
We guarantee our stock shade pieces will be within +/- 4" of the published dimensions. Accuracy has only very rarely been a problem, but keep in mind these variances.

When hanging shade cloth pieces larger than 100 sq. ft., you may need extra center support to prevent the cloth from sagging in the middle. One easy way to do this is by running lightweight cable from corner to opposite corner, forming an X pattern that the cloth can rest on. For pieces larger than 400 sq. ft., you may need cables running end to end every 4' or so.
After a full year of learning how a greenhouse works and asking advice, we settled on 50% aluminet shade cloth to hang in the interior - we live east of the sierras with an afternoon wind named the Washoe Zephyr so outside would not work. The grommets simplify the hanging throughout the greenhouse. The cooling of the interior was immediate. Along with 2 swamp coolers, these shadecloths help maintain 80-90 degree afternoon interior temperatures. We have ordered one more, a 60% shadecloth, to hang along the south wall of our greenhouse.
The temperature dropped dramatically once I put this on my greenhouse. The grommets make securing it easy
I have a patio screen where my orchids live and a neighborhood cat was making the screen pop out on top. The Aluminet panel I used to replace the screen will hold the weight of the cat and is great for my cattleyas!
I can now grow Catts with 50% Aluminet. Cooler also so plants don't cook.
cover works great, plants are doing much better in greenhouse donn't have to move them out like last year
Product arrive promptly, appears as advertised, dimensions are remarkably accurate (contrary to some other reviews). My greenhouse is 24' long ... and that's the size of the product. Reinforced borders with grommets are a major plus, given the nature of the shading material. It even looks much better on the greenhouse than my old black mesh 50% shade. I just installed it yesterday. Will see how it functions and how it weathers its first season
This is for my little pop up greenhouse for my orchids during winter. This is perfect to cover it to allow me to move them to a sunnier patio section without burning them. I may use it as an open cover in summer.
This shade cloth is exactly what the greenhouse ordered. It does the job and my plants are the happier for it!
The aluminet was exactly as I expected it would be. I cut this piece to fit my application. It worked great.
It appears very well made. The temperature in the greenhouse is not as high with it on. We'll have to wait until it is hotter to tell whether we should have gotten higher reflectivity. The greenhouse is 20 ft, and the cloth seemed almost a foot short at each end. So the advice I'd give is to buy the next size up.
