Affordable protection for your vegetables or crops by reducing or eliminating the need for harmful insecticides. Very strong material will last for years.
Enviromesh is a fine mesh netting, woven from UV-stabilized polyethylene. Enviromesh stops insect pests such as cabbage root fly, carrot fly, caterpillars, aphids and leaf miners, as well as birds, rabbits, and deer. Provides protection against wind (reducing water loss) hail and autumn frost. Reduces the occurrence of soiling from rain and irrigation water splash.
This is stiffer material than I expected but it works great. I bought so I could cover my Brussels sprouts, rutabaga. I have tried for years to get them to harvest. So far no insect damage.
This keeps the insects out and keeps the heat in for my strawberry patch. Extends the growing season and prevents hail damage.
I bought the first one from greenhouse mega store about 8-10 years ago. I have now 8 of them. They protect my vegetables very well. I wish it came in a bit longer size, like 26 feet, but it is still the best thing ever. Tried some others when these weren't available, they have been in the trash after max 2 years, these are still going strong.
I bought this product to cover my fruit bushes. I will not use it until spring but I believe it is just what I was looking for to protect my blueberries and strawberries .
This wonderful product keeps nasty bugs out, lets light and rain in, allows for air circulation and, very importantly in my area, acts as a wonderful wind barrier. I cover all my vegetable and berry raised beds with it in early spring through early summer and it works like a charm. I also use on my blackberry beds to prevent birds from enjoying the berries. The giant size works best for me. All my beds are 12 feet long and most are 4 feet wide. I cut the excess off and use it to cut pieces to cover the ends. I use 1/2 inch x 10 foot conduit as hoops and purchased Greenhouse Megastore clips for conduit to attach. It makes a wonderful combination and works like a charm. I have had Enviromesh for two seasons and it shows NO signs of wear, even through winter. Do not expect it to do too much as a frost cover, but it does help a little. You can cover it with a frost cover or even a sheet if needed, though, with minimal diminution of light. Brilliant product. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Finally a chemical free way to successfully raise plants in the cabbage family! You must set it up properly so that it is sealed all the way around, and you must carefully check the netting every morning for the odd cabbage butterfly that may have gained access (and squash them when you see them). The netting allows sunlight and water to filter in, but does not trap heat the way some insect nets do. A great product!
I have been using Enviromesh in my own garden as well as a community garden for several years. I have found nothing better. If properly secured, it keeps bugs out. It also wears like iron, lasting many years. I particularly like that you can see the plants underneath, unlike tissue-like opaque row cover, and that it is cooler in summer and lets in rain more readily. I only wish it were available in more lengths and widths. For a standard 4'x8' raised bed, you really need the 12' width ("Giant" size) to get it over hoops that are high enough to grow taller crops and secure it to the ground, but 20' length is too long. The 16' x 8.6' size is long enough but not wide enough to go over hoops and provide enough material to be secured at the bottom.
Bought this to keep out insects that lay eggs that turn into caterpillars that eat up the cabbages. I had that cover practically sealed shut. To my amazement, there are now grasshoppers, bees, and several kinds of insects, including the cabbage looper butterfly inside. So much for the money I spent! So, don't waste your money like I did.
I bought my last one in 2017 and it has withstood hail & torrents! Very effective at protecting my Tomatoes from evil hornworms!!!
I use these to cover my raised bed tomatoes to keep out leaf hoppers, birds, and other pests. These screens also protect the plants from heavy winds.
Get your ground cover down and stop the weeds before they start again.
